States has several kinds of recluse or brown spiders of the genus
Loxosceles.
Loxosceles
reclusa is the official brown recluse spider, found in Arkansas,
Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and surrounding areas.
Loxosceles laeta
and Loxosceles rufescens are two species that were accidentally imported
into the United States and have been found in many cities throughout the
United States. Loxosceles laeta is a native of South America
