Venom, silk and other glands and tissues suitable for biochemistry, histology or the extraction of mRNA can be prepared on a custom basis. For instance, freshly dissected venom glands are routinely harvested into RNAlater (tm-Ambion) for the development of genetic libraries for sequencing or alternate expression systems.
Intact specimens may also be provided live, frozen on dry ice or injected and stored in RNAlater.
